Welcome to the Association of Royal Yachtsmen (ARY) foundation Book of Remembrance.
Some 3,300 Officers and Ratings were selected for the Royal Yacht Service in either the Victoria and Albert or Britannia.
The later having had a 44 year operational life, terminating on 11 December 1997.
Membership of the Association of Royal Yachtsmen is open to all those who served and joining details are given in the “membership” banner
on this landing page.

This alphabetical Book of Remembrance initially gives a 6 line entry for those located by our researcher Michael Hill, a former Royal Yachtsman
of the 60’s who are known to us as having “passed over the bar”. (See Tennyson’s poem at the lead of the link) but many it is believed are still missing.
In addition, this sparse 6 line entry, is not we believe the most fitting tribute for those who served and you will notice that on many entries
it is stated in the last entry line that “full page available”, to which an example is given in the last page of the link.
This full page on velum is held and available to the general public onboard BRITANNIA berthed in Leith (Edinburgh) and we would wish for as many
as possible to have this full page tribute.

So if you are viewing as a relative or friend, and you identify any detail that is incorrect, have knowledge of missing data or indeed have information of any Royal Yachtsman who is missing from this Book, or can help us migrate the sparse entry to a full page entry then you are requested to please contact
the Curator David R Rushforth at mailto:rushy53@yahoo.co.uk
